about

This is a re-recording and reissue of our first single, Hope We originally released Hope over a year ago, when we first started out, and playing non-stop over that year has given us such an opportunity to grow as musicians in sound and style. So when our good friend Rick asked us if he could record a track, we jumped at the chance to not only redo a song that means so much to us, but also to show how we've grown. So please take this track and spread it far and wide. If you like it, find us online or come out to a show and say hello.

Thank you for your amazing support,
Cory, Kyle, Sam, Allie, and Brad

lyrics

Let me speak you've done enough
I'm not an angry man, I swear
These words are just my attempt
At giving you a little truth
It's time to wake up
Time you learn
I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid
Stop telling me all the ways you think you're right
Believe me, I'm sure I've heard them all
This time I'll let your doubt
Keep my hope alive

You tear me down
Compassion is a foreign word to you
To build yourself up you neglect
To say, you're proud of me
And I feel pity for you
In your absence of truth
Your words speak sorrows to a man
Who's lost his patience

(chorus)

These are the words I've brought to you
They're angry rhymes and half-truths
And you sit and watch me
As I relay these stories of dark nights
And of dreary mornings
(Stop telling me all the ways)
It's time you wake up
(You think you're right this time)
It's time you learned
I'm not afraid
To walk away

I remember this bad blood
It's on your face
Dripping from your mouth
Those foul words spoken
And as you look at me
I can't help but feel pity
I can't help but feel shame
Your eyes are dead
But your smile is vicious
And other people are not nearly as bad
As the bite wounds you've given them
I tried to give you a hand
But you slit my palm with your sharp tongue
Telling me to stay away
That you were better off without me
Saying that I drove this
That I made this happen
I was no saint
But you were not without sin

(chorus)
